Why has my suspension not counted down?

Modified on Tue, 5 Dec, 2023 at 3:41 PM

A suspension might not have counted down after a fixture for a number of reasons:

  1. The match has not been moved to PLAYED. This needs to be done by the Referee or Competition Manager upon completion of the game.
  2. The match played was not by the team linked to the sanction. For example, at the Area Association level, suspensions are served with the team the suspension was picked up in. So if a player is sent off for a Team A, they would be suspended for all football, until Team A has served the relevant number of games - other teams games within the same club would not count here.
  3. The suspension has been set up incorrectly, or not carried across from a previous club.

If you are unsure why a suspension has not counted down, or believe that it should have, please raise a ticket with the details of the player and we will be able to advise.
