A roster within COMET, is effectively a squad list for a specific team within a specific competition. Some leagues across Wales require these to be used, so these would need to be created on a competition by competition basis.
This guide will show you how to add, remove, and deactivate players from a roster.
Where to find a roster
1. Click on Competitions, then MyCompetitions
2. Click on the relevant competition
3. Click on the clubs tab
There are a few different aspects to rosters. These include checking players are in the roster, adding players and removing players (both if they have played, and haven't played).
Checking players that are in a roster
Press the arrow next to your club name. This will expand your roster.
Adding players to a roster
Press the plus underneath 'players'. This will bring up a list of players that are eligible to be added to the roster.
You need to then tick the box of the players you want added. You then need to press 'add selected'.
This will then add the selected players to the roster.
If they do not show on this list, please first check that they are confirmed. If it is a junior player, you should also check the age parameter of the competition, and the gender of the player.
Removing players from a roster
In order to remove a player from a roster, it will depend if they have played or not in the competition.
If they have not played, they can be deleted using the bin icon.
If they have played, you will not be able to delete them. Instead, you will need to make them inactive within the roster. This can be done by pressing the down arrow.
This will allow you to add further players in the scenario of a roster cap.
Once you have done this, they will show as inactive within the roster. They will not longer show as available and the numbers within the roster will decrease. This is demonstrated below.
Frequent problems with rosters
Competitions with multiple elements
In competitions where there is a split into multiple elements (EG: Divisions or rounds of a cup), there are multiple club tabs where rosters can be added. This can cause confusion where players are added into one roster but not the other.
In order to avoid this problem, we recommend only adding a roster into the PARENT competition. This will be the competition without any matches/a league table. Do not create rosters in both a parent/element, as this will cause confusion.
For example, if there is a roster in a PARENT competition, but a player was added to the element, this would result in only the player added in the element showing as available rather than those in the parent.
League restrictions
Some leagues put in a restriction on players being added to the roster. In these scenarios, you will need to contact the league directly to make any changes. If you are not sure who is best to contact, please raise a ticket and we can provide the relevant details.
