How to Add a Referee to a Match on Comet - Step by Step Guide

The following guide explains how to add a referee to a match on Comet.

Firstly, the referee needs to be on a confirmed status on Comet, having paid their registration fee and achieved the FAW Referee Award. This award can be attained by clicking on the link below:

Finding the match to appoint the referee

1. Click on Home and then find the relevant competition

Once on the 'Home' section or 'Competition' section on the left hand side, type the competition you are looking for in the text box below and select the competition.

2. Select the Match within the Competition

Once you have selected the competition, find the required match on the matches tab within the competition and select it.

3. Edit the Match

After you select the match, click edit on the match tab in order to add the referee.

4. Adding the referee

Once you have edited the match, scroll down to Referee within the Match Officials section and then type the name of the referee you are looking to add to the game within the Referee text box.

When you have typed the referee's name, select the required referee from the drop down menu provided.

5. Save the Match

Once the referee is selected, scroll back up to the top of the screen and save the appointment.

6. Referee Awaiting Confirmation

After saving the match you can scroll back down to the Match Officials section and see an orange circle next to the referee's name.

This shows the status of the referee is pending and an email confirmation has been sent to the referee to confirm his participation within the match.

7. Referee Confirmed

Once the referee has confirmed his participation within the match, the circle next to their name will turn green and it will confirm to both teams who the referee of the match will be.
